Job Description: We are looking for a Student Archaeologist to join us for the summer (May-August). This is a great opportunity to gain work experience and learn about CRM archaeology in a safe, fun, empowering environment! The Student Archaeologist participates in AIAs/HRIAs in the field, travelling to and from project areas and conducting pedestrian traverse and subsurface testing as required.
Qualifications:
- Working towards a Bachelors Degree in Archaeology or related discipline
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Ability to travel to locations for extended periods
- Ability to walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather conditions and diverse/rugged terrain
- Ability to perform manual labour, including hiking for extended distances (average 8 to 10 km per day), and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Self-motivated with strong initiative
- Ability to work cooperatively, support and coach co-workers in a positive team environment and share work expertise and knowledge
